WALK4JUSTICE 2025

The JAALS Foundation is driving meaningful reform through initiatives like #Walk4Justice, stakeholder collaborations, and policy advocacy. In 2024, our efforts led to intensive training for 35 court bailiffs, fostering efficiency in judicial processes.

Recognizing the critical role that legal practitioners play in the justice system, we believe that a strengthened synergy between the anti-graft agencies and the legal profession is imperative to achieving the shared objectives of justice, fairness, and transparency. Concerned by the lack of cohesion among key stakeholders in Nigeria’s justice reform project, we had dedicated Walk4Justice 2025 to bridging this gap.

This year, JAALS Foundation, alongside key partners including admin Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Lagos Division, Hon. Justice A. O Faaji, Deputy Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Mr Goodwill Longs, Head of Bailiff Mr Oshodi Emmanuel, representatives from WIPSI (Women in Prison Support Initiative), FIDA (International Federation of Women Lawyers), and Perchstone and Graeys, led participants on a march to the ICPC office in Ikoyi.

We were graciously received by the state Commissioner, Mr Alex Chukwurah where NBA Chairman Lagos Branch, Mr Bisi Makanjuola, Mrs. Folashade Alli, SAN, Managing Partner at Perchstone and Graeys, and Mr Osaro Eghobamien, SAN gave compelling speeches to foster meaningful change. Dr. Tolu Aderemi then delivered a letter inviting the agency’s partnership in our upcoming Justice Reform Roundtable.

The 2025 edition, themed 'Advancing Justice Reform in Nigeria,' aims to:
✅ Strengthen the synergy between legal professionals and anti-graft agencies for effective justice delivery.
✅ Advocate for systemic reforms to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of Nigeria's justice system.
✅ Raise public awareness on the importance of justice, transparency, and accountability in national development.

As we continue to champion justice reform, we invite key stakeholders, policymakers, and the public to engage in this critical discourse. Together, with such esteemed partners, we can build a justice system that upholds fairness, efficiency, and integrity for all.
