JAALS Foundation Welcomes Home Trafficked Youths as Nigeria Celebrates President Tinubu’s Second Anniversary

As Nigeria commemorates the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the JAALS Foundation has made a significant impact by welcoming a new group of 15 trafficked boys and girls from Ghana. This successful repatriation was facilitated under the leadership of Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa, the chairperson of Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).

During the welcoming ceremony, Dr. Tolu Aderemi, the Director of the JAALS Foundation, along with Country Manager Mr Ekoro encouraged the returnees to embrace the opportunities available in Nigeria. He highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to not only enhancing physical infrastructure but also fostering a mindset geared towards growth and development.

Dr. Aderemi urged the returnees to tap into Nigeria’s thriving entertainment sector, valued at approximately N157 billion, and the burgeoning real estate market, which contributes between 5-7% to the country’s GDP. He emphasized the importance of adapting to the current global economic landscape, noting that many Western countries are still recovering from the financial impacts of COVID-19 and becoming less welcoming to foreigners.

In a gesture of support, Dr. Aderemi presented cash gifts to each of the returnees on behalf of the Foundation, encouraging them to use the funds wisely as they reintegrate into Nigerian society and contribute positively to the nation’s development.

This heartwarming event not only marks a triumph in the fight against human trafficking but also reinforces the commitment of the Nigerian government and organizations like the JAALS Foundation to support the well-being and future of its citizens.
