Beyond the annual Walk4Justice programme, our work continuesthroughout the year. We run monthly prison outreaches where we provide directsupport to inmates and correctional facilities, focusing on dignity, rehabilitation, and reintegration. In collaboration with the Nigerians inDiaspora Commission, we also support the reintegration of trafficked andvulnerable Nigerians returning from abroad, helping them rebuild their livesand re-enter society with structure and support.
We also recognize that justice is only as strong as thepeople who deliver it. That is why we invest in the wellbeing of legalpractitioners through initiatives like JAALS Aerobics and mental health supportprogrammes in partnership with Mindsplace, ensuring that those within thejustice system are also supported to remain effective and resilient.
As part of our expanding institutional work, we are alsostrengthening the capacity of justice sector agencies through a trainingprogramme for officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other RelatedOffences Commission (ICPC). This programme focuses on digital literacy andtechnical capacity development to improve efficiency across investigation andprosecution processes.
Our work is strengthened through collaboration with partnerssuch as the Women in Prison Support Initiative (WIPSI), whose focus oncorrectional advocacy and rehabilitation aligns with our commitment to dignity, reform, and reintegration within the justice system.
Every year, Walk4Justice is our reminder that reform is notabstract. It is practical, continuous, and people-centred. Through it, wecontinue to push for a justice system that works not just in principle, but inpractice.
